Friends of Trees

Friends of Trees is a community forestry organization that brings people together to plant and care for city trees and green spaces. Since 1989, they have planted 800,000+ trees and native shrubs in the Portland-Vancouver-Salem and Eugene-Springfield metro areas.

As One Tree Planted's local planting partner, all volunteer hours and planting events our team works on directly are through Friends of Trees.

One Tree Planted

One Tree Planted is an environmental non-profit organization and one of the world's leading reforestation charities with the goal of restoring forests, creating habitat for biodiversity, and making a positive social impact around the world. Since their establishment, they have been dedicated to making it easier for both individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity, and help reforestation efforts. For every dollar donated, a tree is planted. Since the start of their charity in 2014, they've planted over 40,000,000 trees in over 47 countries. When we became a 1% for the Planet member in 2021, One Tree Planted was the first organization that we partnered with. We felt inspired to help with reforestation after experiencing an apocalyptic fire season the previous summer. The proceeds from our sales since then have helped plant over 16,000 trees right here in Oregon. We have even set up a few local events with our staff to do everything from planting to invasive species management to help promote healthy forests in our area.

Winter Wildlands Alliance

WWA is the national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving winter wildlands and a quality human-powered winter sports experience. Winter Wildlands Alliance was founded to represent backcountry skiers and human-powered recreation on America’s public lands. We are an alliance of grassroots organizers, environmental advocates, backcountry skiers and snowboarders, and individuals who are devoted to protecting, preserving, and sharing access to quiet places in the mountains. Our partnership with WWA directly supports their year-round policy work for winter conservation, advocacy work for human-powered recreation, and our educational programs to get 35,000+ kids out on snow each winter. Glory Bee - SAVE the BEE

Save the Bee is a bee conservancy program based out of Eugene that is dedicated to increasing awareness of the role and impact honey bees have on a healthy food supply, as well as raising funds for research to improve honey bee health and nutrition, resulting in increased survival rates. SAVE the BEE has contributed $850,500 to date in support of research and education in finding solutions to save honey bees. Most of their impact has been right here in our state! These accomplishments include $5 million in annual savings to Oregon’s commercial beekeepers after implementing management changes based on OSU research as well as over 400 acres of combined pollinator forage created on farms, ranches, parks, and vineyards. Ocean Blue Project

Ocean Blue Project is an ocean cleanup organization based out of Corvallis that is working to rehabilitate and conserve the world’s Ocean, beaches, and rivers through clean ups, solutions to keep pollutants from entering ecosystems, community-driven service learning and youth education. Their Ocean conservation projects are advancing the path to a better future for our one world Ocean. With 300,000+ lbs of plastic removed from oceans, 9000+ shrubs and trees planted near rivers, and 6000+ clean up volunteer events, it's clear how much of an impact they're making.
